



Vermillion is an independent performer, writer and artist who has been active in the New York City cultural community since 2001. Her work has been presented at the Immigrant Theater Festival, Galapagos Art Space, Manhattan Theater Source, IWAS,The Field, Theater for the New City, The Moth, Stage Left, Bowery Poetry Club, Chashama. Her current solo storytelling show, On Cats and Dogs and Other Family Revelations successfully premiered at the 2024 NYC Fringe Festival and its various iterations are monthly performed at Under St Marks Theater. Her next show is on May 13th.
She is an artist in residence at Under St Mark’s Theater. Her Lovely Shoes improv team hosts there the monthly improv Side-Coached show.
As a visual artist she regularly exhibits her work at the Outsider Art Fair, showing in galleries, doing performance art, notably she publicly buried herself in bottles during her 2023 residency on Governors Island, curating internationally The Mushroom Show (2023), Re/invention (2026) and the upcoming Coming Out Of Isolation (Summer 2026) both in NYC and London.
She has an MA in American Studies from Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest and an MFA in Creative Writing from Louisiana State University.
Special talents: she speaks four languages and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services granted her green card as an alien with exceptional qualities specializing in Transylvanian culture, including vampire lore.
